Canine Constitutional Dog Rescue

It is our mission to provide care, comfort, and compassion to homeless dogs while engaging the community in an effort to bring an end to the abandonment of canine family members.

We long for a world where no pet endures the pain and suffering brought on by abandonment, abuse, and neglect.

Some Success Stories.

Chuckie

Chuckie had been in an animal shelter for 2 years and was being prepared to be destroyed. As a last ditched effort, he came to us for foster care and after 8 months of decompression and playing with dogs he finally found a home to love him.

Snickers

Snickers was abandoned, dumped in our van when she was no more than 6 weeks old. We decided to do a little training with her before finding a suitable home, but as fate would have it, her suitable home was with us. Snickers has been with us since 2014.

Buttons

Mrs. Buttons came to us as part of a rescue dog training program at Bergin College for Canine Studies. After spending a few months in foster training with us, she found her forever home with a wonderful family.

Howard

Howard was another dog that came to us from the Bergin College rescue dog program. He spent almost a year with us before he had his first chance at a home of his own. It didn't work out but shortly after he came back to us someone else stepped up and gave this boy his happily ever after.

Foster dog training program.

One of our core purposes is to improve the adoptability of homeless dogs. In addition to the one-on-one training, we provide to all of our dogs, we also have a community training program where foster parents can bring dogs for various categories of training, accepting being touched, for example.

You can volunteer a little of your time to support these dogs in training, ask us how.

Please consider making a financial contribution today so that we can continue to support homeless dogs and develop more programs like this one. here.

Adoptable dogs:

Please give these dogs a second chance at life. Many of the dogs that end up in our program have been abandoned by the very people that these lost souls put their trust in. They've come here to discover they can trust and be loved again.

Dogs in our care.

The dogs that come to us have nowhere else to turn. They are desperate for companionship and hungry to understand the human world they live in.

Every one of our dogs is learning what it feels like to be part of a community, both of dogs and humans. Are you looking to adopt but not sure about rushing in? You can join us in our training program once a week and spend time training the dog you are interested in.

Frank

Frank was abandoned to a very harsh wilderness when he was very young. He is now 10 months old and a very easy adolescent to live with. He loves dogs, every dog. If you've got a dog that wants a best friend, Frank could easily be the one. As a result of the time, he spent on his own, he worries about what people are planning on doing to him. He came to us for help learning the leash. He mastered that and is now learning to master the art of people.

Potty Trained,
Crate Trained,
Leash Trained,
Loves going for a drive.

Note: Context in training is important. This means you might still need to potty train a potty-trained dog. This is because when a dog moves into a new environment, they have no way of knowing things function the same as the old environment.

Reny

Reny is a 5-year-old German Shepherd. He was adopted by a senior couple when he was 8 weeks old and unfortunately, they aged much faster than he has. We actually know Reny very well, because his mother was in foster care with us when she was pregnant with Reny and his siblings. As such, we've known him all of his life. In his home, he spent a great deal of time alone outside in a small fenced in area. As a result, he hobby barks when he's outside at passersby. Where many dogs continually bark after being told to stop, Reny will quiet on command. Indoors he is quiet and crates very nicely.
